Subsidy and Tuition Assistance—What Does It Mean?

St. Mary is committed to keeping tuition affordable and to offer financial assistance where needed to ensure all families can choose an excellent faith-based education for their children.

Whether Catholic or non-Catholic, we know not all families are aware of the financial assistance available for students. We want to provide you with this financial information as you make future school decisions.

Subsidy- Subsidy is one way the local parishes support Catholic education and the Catholic families who choose a St. Mary education. This is not based on your income or financial situation.  Catholic families who are active members of their parish and participate in the stewardship program of time, talent, and treasure are eligible for subsidy.  Participating parishes generously provide up to $2,575 per K-12 child per school year for families meeting the parish expectations above.  Families are responsible for contacting their parish to arrange for subsidy.

Father Lew White Scholarship (FLW) - The FLW Scholarship provides tuition assistance to Catholic families with K-12 students enrolled in the St. Mary School System, and over the years has provided over $1 million dollars to St. Mary families.

Other Tuition Assistance Opportunities- Additional tuition assistance is available to non-Catholic and Catholic families enrolled in the St. Mary School System.

To receive funding for any tuition assistance FACTS applications should be completed and submitted online each year. The majority of tuition assistance will be awarded by late spring to early summer.  We are available to assist you with the online process.

What is FACTS?
It is our goal that need-based financial assistance is provided as objectively as possible. Therefore, St. Mary utilizes FACTS to handle the financial aid application and verification process. Once the application is completed and returned, FACTS provides all of the necessary information for St. Mary to distribute need-based financial assistance.

It does help to talk with the Director if there are extenuating circumstances or needs unable to be shared on the application for tuition assistance consideration.  All information provided by the family through FACTS or in talking with the Director is held in the strictest confidence.

Fourth Child Tuition Free- St. Mary does not charge tuition for the fourth (or more) child concurrently enrolled at St. Mary and attending kindergarten through 12th grade.
